About Us

Born in Bermuda, I have always been drawn to the power of scent and its ability to transport us across time and place. My inspiration comes from my island roots and my deep connection to Bermuda, where my family has lived for generations. Descended from the island’s early Portuguese immigrants and married into two of Bermuda’s oldest families, the Dills and the Outerbridges, my heritage is woven into the fabric of this place.

My journey into perfumery began with my studies at the Institute of Art and Olfaction in Los Angeles, where I refined my craft and learned to compose scents that evoke memory and emotion. The first perfume I created featured a gasoline accord crafted with tea tree oil—an exploration of contrast and depth that set the foundation to my approach to scent.

LAVA & SALT is a tribute to the island that shaped me. I create collections inspired by Bermuda’s landscapes, botanicals, and the timeless elegance of coastal living. With each fragrance, I invite you to experience the soul of my island—the wild Atlantic crashing against volcanic cliffs, the warmth of tropical air carrying whispers of citrus and spice, and the salt-laden winds that have shaped Bermuda for centuries.
